Product Description
The SLE4442 is a contact-type IC card chip developed by Infineon, compliant with the ISO 7816 standard interface and utilizing the T=0 communication protocol. Operating at 5 V, it functions within a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, featuring a 256-byte EEPROM and a 32-bit independently addressed protected memory, supporting at least 100,000 erase/write cycles and a data retention period of 10 years.

Bytes 0–7 constitute a manufacturer-predefined, read-only data region [1]. Security mechanisms include physical attack-resistant design and encryption algorithms; data modification is permitted only after successful password verification. This represents a type of contact IC card, specifically the SLE 4442 model.

- Each byte within the write protection zone (the first 32 bytes) can be individually protected against writing; once protected, the content cannot be altered (i.e., data is permanently fixed).
- All data can be read until the password is verified correctly; if necessary, the data may be appropriately encrypted.
- After verifying the password is correct, you can write or modify it.
- The three-byte user password can be changed after verification and remains valid until the card is powered off.
- Password error counter: Initially set to 3. Each incorrect password verification reduces the count by 1. If the counter reaches 0, the card is automatically locked—data can only be read, no further modifications are allowed, and password verification becomes impossible. If the counter is not zero, one correct password verification restores it to the initial value.
- Addresses 21–26 contain user codes; our company may assign a globally unique code for large users to ensure standardized distribution and usage (all cards cannot be modified after production).
- Byte addresses 0–5 and 6–7 are pre-set by the manufacturer before shipment and cannot be altered.
- Note that the password field should be addressed separately and not within the range of 0–255 bytes.
