eUICC (Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card) is the hardware chip that enables eSIM (Embedded SIM) functionality and is the core carrier of eSIM technology.
- Core functions and principles ·Multiple profile management: eUICC contains a manageable chip that can download, save and switch between eSIM profiles from different operators. One eUICC card can store multiple operator profiles, allowing users to switch between operators or plans via OTA (over-the-air) technology without changing the physical SIM card. ·Remote configuration: Supports Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP), allowing users to download operator data or numbers to the card via software (LPA, Local Profile Assistant), achieving 'writing' and 'changing' SIM cards.
- Physical forms and carriers ·Variety of forms: eUICC can be a microchip directly soldered onto a device's motherboard (such as eSIMs inside phones, smartwatches, IoT devices) or an independent writable physical card (i.e., a 'blank eUICC card'). ·Physical card form: The 'eUICC physical card' on the market is a regular SIM card form (like Nano-SIM size) with an eUICC chip. It is 'blank' inside and requires a card reader or phone app to write a specific eSIM profile before use.
- Main application scenarios ·Using eSIM on older phones/non-eSIM devices: For phones that do not support native eSIM, overseas eSIM or data cards can be written to an eUICC physical card, enabling global network switching for travel or overseas internet use. ·IoT devices: Widely used in devices that require global connectivity, frequent operator switching, or difficult physical SIM changes (such as car devices, smart meters, shared equipment), enabling flexible networking and remote management. 4. Difference from eSIM ·eUICC is hardware/chip: Responsible for securely storing and managing operator profiles and is the physical basis for eSIM functionality. ·eSIM is digital technology/service: The digital function provided by eUICC hardware, a 'virtual SIM card' service that allows users to switch profiles and activate services directly. An eUICC card writes eSIM information through software or a card reader. An eUICC card is a physical card that can store multiple eSIMs, but the capacity varies: a common 340kb card can hold 5 eSIMs (from different operators). The exact number of eSIM profiles depends on the profile size. This way, when you need a specific eSIM, you can switch to the corresponding profile and change eSIMs without swapping cards.

One card holds five traditional cards; besides that, we also have larger 2.5MB and 5.0MB cards; the Android SDK is available for free; customised printed images are possible, and it can be in half-size card or full-card form.
